Archie Reed

Perched on a bluff in Ashland City, Tennessee, this country house overlooks the family's property, rolling hills, and Cumberland River. Framed around views of the ninety-acre site, the design is based on traditional proportions while incorporating modern elements suitable to Middle Tennessee. Stone chimneys and fireplaces are juxtaposed with glass and lap siding, while a southern entry through a full-width porch opens to a double-height space anchored by the heart of the home, the kitchen table.
